If you already have a Colombian medical quote in your inbox or WhatsApp, you are at the most commercially useful stage of the process. The question is no longer “What does treatment in Colombia cost?” It is: Is this particular quote complete, comparable, and plausible for the treatment being proposed?
Send us the non-sensitive details.
Tell us the procedure, total price, city, and what the quote says is included. If you want help requesting comparison quotes, use the intake below.
Do not send full medical records, intimate photographs, IDs, or financial information over ordinary messaging. Start with the commercial quote details.
Step 1: identify exactly what the quote is pricing
Write the treatment at the top of the page in plain English. Not “package.” Not “premium plan.” Not “full service.” The actual treatment.
Examples:
- primary total knee replacement, right knee;
- total hip replacement, left hip;
- single dental implant + abutment + zirconia crown;
- upper-arch fixed implant restoration on six implants;
- femtosecond LASIK, both eyes;
- IVF retrieval cycle + ICSI, medications excluded;
- tummy tuck + flank liposuction;
- FUE hair transplant, estimated 2,800 grafts.
Step 2: compare it with a planning range
Published price ranges are useful only after the treatment category is correct. The current Colombia Medical network includes, for example:
| Procedure | 2026 Colombia planning figure/range | Specialist site |
|---|---|---|
| Total knee replacement | $8,400–$12,000 | KneeQuote.com / Colombia Orthopedics |
| Total hip replacement | $11,000–$13,000 | HipReplacements.co / Colombia Orthopedics |
| Single dental implant | About $800–$1,500 on network dental guides | Colombia Dentist |
| All-on-4 / full arch | About $6,500–$11,000 per arch on network guides | Full Mouth Restoration |
| LASIK / current-generation laser correction | About $1,200–$2,200 both eyes | Colombia LASIK |
| Gastric sleeve | About $4,500 network planning figure | Colombia Bariatric |
If your quote is outside the range, that is a question—not a verdict. Complex cases, revision work, premium devices/materials, additional treatment, city, facility, and package inclusions can all change the number.
Step 3: turn the quote into three buckets
| Bucket | Examples |
|---|---|
| Included | Explicitly inside the stated total |
| Extra | Explicitly billed separately |
| Unknown | Quote does not say |
Unknown is not the same as excluded. It means you need one more answer.
Step 4: verify the provider
For Colombia, use ReTHUS to verify the clinician and REPS to verify the provider/facility/service. Then independently check the claimed specialty training and reconcile the facility named in the quote with the place where treatment will actually occur.
Step 5: ask the procedure-specific question
Every specialty has one or two quote fields that matter disproportionately:
- Knee replacement: implant manufacturer/product line + PT block.
- Hip replacement: implant system + bearing surface + fixation.
- Dental implants: implant + abutment + final crown/prosthesis.
- Full arch: implant count + provisional + final prosthesis material.
- LASIK: exact procedure + laser platform + both eyes.
- IVF: medications + ICSI/PGT + transfer/storage boundaries.
- Hair transplant: graft plan + who performs each surgical step.
- Cosmetic surgery: exact procedure list + facility/anesthesia + follow-up.
Step 6: add the trip
Your quote can be excellent and the trip can still be a bad financial decision. Add airfare, hotel, companion, local transportation, food, recovery services, extra-night buffer, and post-return follow-up.
Then compare that total against your real alternative at home: insurance out-of-pocket, local cash-pay package, or another domestic quote.
Step 7: decide whether the price difference is real
A quote is probably worth taking seriously when:
- the treatment scope is clear;
- the clinician and facility are verifiable;
- the major device/material is identified where relevant;
- the inclusions and exclusions are written;
- follow-up is defined;
- deposit terms are understandable;
- the total remains attractive after travel;
- the provider can explain any material difference from competing quotes.
Four reasons a high quote can still be good
- It includes more of the episode.
- It uses a different device/material or treatment plan.
- It prices anticipated complexity instead of hiding it as an add-on.
- It includes stronger follow-up or rehabilitation.
Four reasons a low quote can still be good
- Colombia’s private-market cost structure can simply be lower.
- The provider has a genuine bundled cash-pay package.
- The clinic owns/controls more of the episode and reduces separate billing.
- The plan is simpler than competing providers assumed.
What we can help with without pretending to practice medicine
GetMedicalQuotes can help you:
- identify missing commercial line items;
- compare the quote with public planning ranges;
- organize provider A/B/C into one table;
- route a request for additional provider estimates;
- point you to ReTHUS/REPS verification;
- link you into the relevant specialty property such as KneeQuote.com or HipReplacements.co.
We cannot tell you whether you medically need the procedure, whether one treatment plan is clinically superior, or whether a complication risk is acceptable for you. Those are clinician-patient decisions.
The one-sentence test
If you can say, “This is a quote from this verified provider for this clearly defined treatment at this facility, including these components, excluding these components, for this dated price,” you have something worth comparing.
If you can only say, “A guy on WhatsApp said $7,000,” you do not.
Have a quote already, or want us to help you request one?
Tell us the procedure, your home country, your timing, and what you already have. If you already received a written estimate, tell us the total and the major line items. We can help organize the commercial comparison and route a new inquiry through the Colombia Medical network.
Do not send government IDs, payment-card details, or highly sensitive medical records over ordinary SMS or WhatsApp. If imaging or records are needed for clinical review, ask the provider which secure transfer channel it uses. GetMedicalQuotes.com is not a medical provider.
